Knewton is poised to revolutionize the practice of education with the world's most powerful adaptive learning engine. We are a startup rich in eclectic personalities, are ridiculously dedicated, and are unified around a passion for democratizing education. We have also been recognized as a Technology Pioneer at the World Economic Forum in Davos and one of the top 25 best places to work by Crain’s New York Business.
We’re looking for a technical project manager for our Content Curation team. Your job will be to operationalize the sourcing and tagging of content for our direct to consumer platform. We are looking for leadership in refining our curation processes and, ultimately, our community management practices as we support users in teaching, learning, and contributing content to the product.
Educational content may be ubiquitous, but every company and every website structures its information differently. Some may put questions and answer choices in the same text field, others may separate the two, and still others may have their content saved only as block PDFs. There’s similar variation in how educational standards are applied to content and, consequently, in how that information can be extracted. Until we have a robust suite of content ingestion tools, we need a team member who can help us bridge the gap and get as much content into our system as quickly and seamlessly as possible, without any loss in fidelity. That’s where you come in.
This is a cross-disciplinary role, equal parts consulting, technical, and educational. You’ll engage with a variety of OER content, subject matter experts, teams, and workflows. If you have a background in educational content development, and if you’ve been a project manager or an operations specialist, then this may be the perfect way for you to join Knewton.
